Prurient – The Black Post Society CD
This album has a harshness to it that somehow feels subdued and melancholic following an equally melancholic story of a hunter with no more to hunt. Of all the emotions one can feel from this I feel not sadness but almost an erotic “make me cry” feeling from this album that isn’t really seen in noise or power electronics. The name of Fernows work “Prurient” is evident of a sexual nature in his albums which I feel heavily comes to light in this release without having to spell it out to you. I rank this album up with my other favorites of Prurient like Pleasure Grounds, History of AIDs, and Cocaine Death. I heavily recommend this release for freaks and loners living out in the backwoods of your small town.
