Zbigniew Karkowski & Damion Romero – 9 Before 9 CD

$12.00

An incerdibely powerful album that manages to make captivating music using bass drones so low they are almost anti-sound, usually unheard sounds that are here brought to extreme levels. Composed of three tracks that are each 18 minutes and 18 seconds long, the bass is always the main focus, sometimes mixed with discrete field recordings. This album is designed to be heard at extremely high levels. At this volume, each variation of the bass deeply impacts you. Both minimal and maximal, silent and loud, simple and complex, thrilling and calming, it is a one-of-a-kind album for a one-of-a-kind experience.
Part 1 is based on looping bass sounds, without much variation but far from being boring. Long and repetitive, with little noticable evolution and no sound standing out, it allows you to explore the whole composition and to get used to the sounds. Insanely low basses--this is all you are going to get. Part 2 is more complex, with of a mix of a looping bassline and field recordings. There is much more going on in this track, and it stays thrilling throughout. Part 3 continues in the low-frequency composition but the track slowly gets harsher towards the end, with a devastative ending noise.
This is antimatter music.
